Wondering what ward you live in? Wondering who to call if you have an issue?
The City Guide is a reference publication the City of St. John’s mails to resident homes four times a year (November, February, May and August).
This time of year, I get a lot of calls and emails on snow clearing. Check out the cities site that can answer some of these questions.
The City's goal is to encourage and help facilitate residents to lead healthy and active lifestyles by offering leisure programs and services that are inclusive and accessible. We have opportunities for residents of all ages and abilities to get involved and participate in a wide variety of activities, indoors and outdoors, scheduled or at your leisure.
This City of St. John's undertakes many initiatives each year to improve services and living for it's citizens. Here are some of these initiatives:
Street cleaning removes dirt and debris from city streets to provide an aesthetically pleasing and healthy environment as well as to protect City infrastructure as it prevents physical damage to pavement and reduces the dirt and debris going into storm sewers, thereby enhancing the quality of storm water that undergoes a treatment process.
When vehicles are occupying on-street parking spaces overnight, snow clearing equipment is unable to effectively clear the snow. To enhance snow clearing and improve accessibility downtown, a new pilot parking restriction will be in place 3:30 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. daily, beginning Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018.
