Jamie Korab | City Of St. John's

Jamie is in his first term on St. John's City Council as the Councillor for Ward 3. In addition to serving Ward 3, he is the Council representative on the Northeast Avalon Joint Council, Bowring Park Foundation, Animal Care & Control and Special Events & Advisory Council. Councillor Korab also sits on the Eastern Regional Service Board.   

Jamie graduated with a diploma in IT and worked in this field for five years after which he was employed for five years with Bell Aliant as a Marketing Communications Coordinator largely focused in sport sponsorship. For the past six years, Councillor Korab has been working as a Realtor with RE/MAX United Inc.  

Councillor Korab has a diverse sports background winning provincial titles in basketball, soccer and curling (winning the World Juniors in 2001 & Olympic Gold in 2006). He has also coached at the national level with Team NL at the 2012 Scotties Tournament of Hearts. Councillor Korab has also done work for the World Curling Federation (WCF) Olympic Celebration Tour trying to attract interest and promote curling within WCF Member Associations (USA x2 & Latvia). 

He has been a board member of Kids Eat Smart for the past five years.  In 2012 he was the recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal. Jamie received an honorary doctor of laws degree from Memorial University & has been awarded The Order of Newfoundland. Most recently he has joined the school council at Cowan Heights Elementary.
