About Jamie

Jamie has been living in St. John's for the last 22 years. He's also a Realtor, husband & a father of two girls. He is currently in his second term on city council as Ward 3 councillor. Jamie is currently the council lead for development

 The Fluvarium, meaning "windows on a stream", is a public centre for environmental education, located in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, and is operated by the Quidi Vidi/Rennie's River Development Foundation.

ERSB provides Waste management Services, Fire and Emergency Protection & Water and Waste Water Services. Jamie's roll is to make sure the residents have a voice on this board.

Jamie is the Chair of SJSEL.  

St. John's Sports and Entertainment Ltd. is a wholly owned subsidiary of the City of St. John's and is responsible for the operations of the Mile One Centre and the St. John's Convention Centre.

 Jamie has was involved with Kids Eat Smart for 10 years. Acting at the champion for 5 years as a kids eat smart champion, visiting schools across NL promoting healthy living & healthy eating. He has sat on the board of KES for 5 years finishing in 2018.

  In 2012 Jamie was the recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for his work within the community. The award was presented by John Crosbie, Lieutenant Governor of NL.

For the last 10 years, Jamie has attended Blind Date with a Star. This is Learning Disabilities Association of Newfoundland and Labrador major annual fundraising initiative.

  Jamie has donated his time to many master of ceremonies events. In this photo it was during Claras Big Ride when she stopped into the GEO Centre on Signal Hill.  Some of the other events Jamie has donated his time to include, The Fluvarium Gala, KES Gala, Bell Aliant Mobility Conference, Miss NL Pageant, sports team fundraisers and more.

After Team Gushue/Team Canada captured the 2001 World Junior Curling Championship, Jamie and team were presented with The Freedom of the City at City Hall. 

This is the highest award conferred by the City of  St. John's. Since 1944 there have been a total of fifteen ceremonies and one formal recognition of the awarding the Freedom of the City.
